Brazilian Army Division General Elias Rodrigues Martins Filho has been selected to serve as Force Commander the world's largest UN mission: The United Nations Stabilisation Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Monusco). The general will command about 17,000 military personnel from a number of regions in the world.

The Congo, a central Africa country and one of the world’s largest in territory size, has long faced armed conflicts and many social issues, including low Human Development Index (HDI) and a high rate of infant mortality. Read Full Article
