Brazilian meat to reach new markets in Asia

Pending agreements now in the final phase of negotiations, Brazilian meat will expand exports to China and begin selling in the Indonesian and South Korean markets, informed Blairo Maggi, Brazil’s Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply. According to the minister, a Chinese mission will come to Brazil to expand the number of meatpacking plants authorised to ship all kinds of meat (bovine, swine and poultry) to the country.

The Koreans will import Brazilian pork from Santa Catarina (Brazil’s only state considered Free of Foot-and-Mouth Disease without Vaccination, the highest protection status), while Indonesian technicians are in Brazil until Friday (20) to discuss details of new exports. In addition, Brazilians and Russians are negotiating the resumption of meat trade between the two countries, suspended since 2017.
