PARTNERSHIP INVESTS IN THE PRODUCTION OF CARBON NEUTRAL MEAT

The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) and Marfrig Global Foods have established a strategic alliance to strengthen the decomposition of Brazilian beef through the production concepts Carbon Neutral Meat (CCN) and Low Carbon Meat (CBC), brands developed by Embrapa for certification of meat produced in systems that neutralize or reduce the emission of methane emitted by animals.

The initiative strengthens both the domestic market and the export of meat, especially to more demanding markets, differentiating the Brazilian product in negotiations of non-tariff barriers related to sustainability issues. Read Full Article
