Brazil’s Natura sees revenue grow after Body Shop deal

Brazilian cosmetics giant Natura on Tuesday saw its net revenue grow thanks to a contribution from Britain’s The Body Shop, which it acquired earlier this year.

The group’s net revenue spiked 24.3 per cent versus the same quarter in the previous year, topping R$2.4bn ($723m) versus last year, including one month of revenue from The Body Shop.

The group reported a positive net income of R$61m ($18m) in the third quarter of 2017, down 16.6 per cent from R$73m ($22m) a year ago.

In September, Natura finalised the purchase of The Body Shop from L’Oreal for an enterprise value of €1bn. The company — which for decades delivered Amazon-sourced products to Brazil’s middle-market through its a network of sales people — outlined a new governance and management structure of “three brands, one vision”.
