Summary

Delta recently sponsored the 2017 Young Enterprise Company Program event, the UK Company of the Year Awards. Since September, teams of students from across the United Kingdom have created and operated real businesses. Fourteen teams were selected to participate in the grand finale. Young Enterprise is the U.K.'s leading charity empowering young people to harness their personal and business skills and make the connection between school and the world of work, enabling young people to develop the knowledge and attitudes they need to succeed.

Mentored by teachers, teams of students developed and implemented companies in addition to their everyday school activities.

"It was amazing to see the passion, creativity and teamwork among all 14 teams that made it to the Young Enterprise Company of the Year U.K national finals," said Sumanth Rao, Director – International Finance EMEAI region. "As a judge, it was really difficult to pick a single winner since all the teams that had made it to this level performed extremely well. Delta's partnership with YE in sponsoring this event improves our visibility in the U.K especially with the students who are our future employees and customers."

VenturePad won the Company of the Year award with their invention of a waterproof notebook and will represent the UK in Brussels next week for the European Finals. Read Full Article
