A Multisectoral Perspective on Eradicating Hunger and Promoting Food System Transition in Brazil

In Brazil, 64 million people live with some degree of food insecurity.  At the same time, 55 million tons of food are wasted in Brazil every year.  Food waste exacerbates existing social inequalities and is responsible for approximately 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions – five times more than emissions from aviation.

To address these challenges, the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Pacto Contra a Fome, will host a luncheon to discuss the role of civil society in identifying policies and solutions that promote the transition of food systems in Brazil.

Please join us for this enlightening and essential discussion.
