About the event

The Brazilian economy faces a presidential election in 2022, in addition to the challenges that COVID-19 have posed to economic growth, inflation, and trade. Although the campaign is ten months away, the jostling for position and the gyrations of voter intent represent a Gordian Knot for investors. The process is only beginning to unfold, with just a few official candidates and many pre-candidates. The market has reacted to the uncertainty, discounting many Brazilian assets to distressed levels and creating investment opportunities in an election year.

The Chamber brought together a panel of esteemed political analysts, economists, and market strategists to analyze possible political and economic outcomes and the implications for the Brazilian economy and markets.
