In the face of escalating climate challenges, with southern Brazil recently experiencing devastating floods and the Pantanal suffering record-breaking fires that have ravaged over three million acres, the urgency of nature conservation has never been clearer. Founded in 2011, Onçafari is dedicated to conserving biodiversity through the protection of natural areas and the socioeconomic development of local communities in Brazil. The initiative operates in 16 conservation bases across various biomes, including the Pantanal, Atlantic Forest, Cerrado, and the Amazon, focusing on wildlife reintroduction, creating ecological corridors to protect biodiversity, and engaging communities through ecotourism.
