About the event

The Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce’s “ESG Series” continues with a webinar on “The Future of Sustainable Finance,” which focus was on the importance of sustainable finance in the current landscape and the developments that can be expected in the coming months and years. We heard directly from company, legal, and bank representatives who guided the first KPI bond in Brazil and the Americas to market and who continue to remain active in bringing the latest innovations in sustainable finance to investors.

In recent years, as ESG matters have become of increasing interest to companies, their stakeholders, and investors, we have seen the development of innovative financial products that have sought to more closely align with companies’ stated ESG objectives. Investors have shown significant appetite for these products, and more innovative sustainable financings based upon a variety of company-specific ESG mandates can be expected in the future. The lack of existing sustainability regulatory framework leaves room for both opportunity and questions about the direction of the market.

The Chamber convened an expert group of panelists to discuss the current state of sustainable finance, offering mechanisms and what can be expected in the future.
