Launched in 2011, the Person of the Year Fellowship Program is an excellence award program that grants scholarships to outstanding young Brazilian professionals who have been accepted to top-tier graduate programs in the United States and who demonstrate the potential to become significant leaders within the Brazilian-American community and make meaningful contributions to society. Proceeds from the POY Gala are used to support the Chamber’s Fellowship Program.

The Person of the Year Fellowship Program is conducted in partnership with Instituto Ling and Lemann Foundation, who help the Chamber identify those candidates who are most likely to make a meaningful contribution. The Program has awarded 167 students with Fellowship since its inception.
