2024 Brazil Summit

One of the most important events in the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce’s annual calendar.

Gain exclusive insights into Brazil’s economy and connect with key decision-makers.

Organized since 2002, the Brazil Summit is the flagship event uniting Brazil’s foremost policymakers with a select audience of influential leaders from the corporate and government spheres to discuss Brazil’s economic outlook, policy agenda, and investment climate.

This exclusive, high-level dialogue, held annually in New York to parallel the spring meetings of the World Bank and IMF, features a keynote address delivered by Brazil’s Minister of Finance, Central Bank Governor, or other senior official, offering direct insight into the country’s fiscal strategy and economic priorities. Complementing these insights are expert-led panels addressing trade, investment, and macroeconomic trends shaping Brazil’s future.

The Brazil Summit is widely recognized as a must-attend forum for those seeking to understand Brazil’s position in the global economy.

Brazil Summit

Key Trends Defining Brazil’s Economic Landscape.

In 2024, Brazil’s economy presented a mix of stability and challenges. Agribusiness continued to expand, energy exports were growing, and external accounts remained solid. These factors and lower global interest rates might have made Brazil attractive to investors. However, capital outflows and local investors favoring foreign markets suggested lingering uncertainties. While Q1/2024 exceeded expectations, growth was expected to slow to around 2%, with potential agricultural declines and increasing fiscal constraints. A weaker labor market and lower tax revenues might have pressured the government to revise its targets, widening the deficit. Political uncertainty added to the risks. With the approaching elections, concerns over potential government intervention in state enterprises and privatized companies rose. While reforms like VAT restructuring showed progress, electoral dynamics may have strained relations with Congress and impact governance. Experts examined these trends at the 2024 Brazil Summit, offering insights into the challenges and opportunities shaping Brazil’s economic future.
