Grupo Mulheres do Brasil NY is a nonprofit organization made up of a network of volunteers operating throughout the Tri-State area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Its mission is to inspire, inform, and empower Brazilian women, strengthening their integration, and that of their families, into American society. The organization develops projects focused on entrepreneurship, immigrant rights, combating violence against women, mental health, and preserving Brazilian culture and the Portuguese language.
After eight years of activity, the group recently obtained official nonprofit status, entering a new phase aimed at expanding its reach across the Tri-State region. Since 2018, more than 120 volunteers have carried out over 500 initiatives spanning culture, entrepreneurship, community integration, mental health, and support for migrant women. President Eliane Garcez called the new status a pivotal milestone in the group's efforts to support and connect Brazilian immigrants as they build their lives in the U.S.
