IBOC Kimera Festival: Hyperlocal + Omnicultural Music and Storytelling

Saturday, August 19, 2023, 4-8 pm
1030 Amsterdam Avenue – Open Streets

The International Brazilian Opera Company and the West 111th Street Block Association will present Pan American Women, the second concert installment of the Kimera Festival, on Saturday, August 19, 2023. From 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm, Samba music specialist and Rio de Janeiro native, Carol Rio, will perform original compositions from her concept album Mind Games, a powerful exploration of what it means to be a woman without fear of judgment or prejudice.

Kimera Festival is a place for grassroots community music and storytelling, showcasing Morningside Heights, Harlem, and the Upper West Side and curated with a global vision in partnership with the W.111th Street-based non-profits, W.111th Street Block Association, and the International Brazilian Opera Company.

Occurring one Saturday a month from July to October on Amsterdam Avenue at W.111th Street, Kimera Festival embraces NYC Open Streets and is free, outdoors, and accessible.  Mark your calendars for August 19, September 23, and October 28, 2023.
