| We hosted a roundtable with Supreme Court Justice Luiz Fux. Justice Fux has served as Justice of the Federal Supreme Court of Brazil since 2011 and is currently Vice President. Previously, he served as Chief Justice of the Federal Superior Electoral Court (2014-18); Justice of the Federal Superior Court (2001-11); Court of Appeals Judge (1997-2001); Judge of the Rio de Janeiro State Court of Justice (1983-97); State Prosecutor (1979-82); and lawyer at Shell Brasil S.A. Petróleo (1976-78).
Since 1977, Justice Fux has served as Professor of Procedural Law at Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ, amidst other positions in academia. Justice Fux holds a Bachelor of Laws from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ (1976) and a Ph.D. in Civil Procedural Law from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ (2009). |
